RACCOMBAT training in Austria
The RACCOMBAT training in Austria took place in Vienna, in the premises of Municipal Department for Integration and Diversity on 9 April 2019. Ms Ursula Eltayeb provided an introduction into the city of Vienna’s services for newcomers, how these services were developed by the city together with stakeholders and which actors were included. The target group is referred to the services after registration by the municipal department of immigration and citizenship.Ms Isabella Meier presented the main research findings of RACCOMBAT and the guidelines it produced. The participants identified several challenges, among which definition of fundamental rights knowledge and values, provision of fundamental rights knowledge to persons with low language skills, the fact that provision of fundamental rights knowledge takes time and needs constant contact.
